Terms of Use
Effective September 9, 2026 · updated September 10, 2026
These terms govern your use of the Toxic Plants for Cats & Dogs iOS application ("the app"), operated by Kushal Mittal ("we"). By using the app you agree to them.
The service
The app identifies plants from photos and reports whether published sources list them as toxic or non-toxic to cats and dogs, lets you map plants to rooms in your home, and offers an AI-assisted emergency guide and chat about plants and pets.
Not veterinary advice
The app is an information tool, not a veterinarian. Identifications can be wrong; toxicity data is compiled from public lists and AI estimates and may be incomplete or out of date; individual animals react differently. Never rely on a "safe" result as a guarantee. If your pet has eaten any part of a plant or shows symptoms, contact a veterinarian or an animal poison control service immediately. Phone numbers shown in the app are third-party services that may charge a fee.
Subscription
- Full access requires an active subscription (yearly, which may include a free trial, or weekly). Prices are shown in the app before purchase.
- Subscriptions are billed and auto-renewed through your Apple ID. Cancel anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions; access continues until the period ends.
- Trials convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store terms.
AI features
Identification, toxicity estimates, the emergency guide and chat are generated by Google's Gemini models through our server. What is sent, and to whom, is described in the Privacy Policy. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date; use it as a starting point, not a conclusion, and never as a substitute for a veterinarian. Don't use the chat to generate content unrelated to plants and pets, and don't submit photos of people.
Agreement
You accept these terms and the Privacy Policy by continuing past the app's first screen, and again when you subscribe.
Data and photos
Plant photos in the library are from the iNaturalist community under Creative Commons licences; credits are listed in the app. Toxicity data draws on the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center's published plant lists and other public sources. The app is not affiliated with or endorsed by the ASPCA or iNaturalist.
Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or misuse the app or its services.
Warranty and liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including harm to an animal. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid in the twelve months before a claim.
Changes
We may update the app and these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
